What classes are you offering at the Smithville Workforce Training Center

2021-22 Course Offerings will include: 

Where will these classes be taught?

  • GED/ESL classes and Phlebotomy classes will be taught at 404 Fawcett, Smithville, TX 78957.

  • Certified Nurse Assistant classes will be taught at Towers Nursing Home, 372 Hill Rd in Smithville, Texas

  • Skilled Trades classes will be taught at Riverbend Park at 107 State Highway 71 in Smithville, Texas

Who will teach the classes?

  • Phlebotomy, HVAC & Plumbing will be taught by Austin Community College.

  • CNA will be taught by the staff of Towers Nursing Home.

  • GED/ESL will be taught by Community Action.

How long does it take to complete the classes?

HVAC and Plumbing classes are 16 to 20 weeks, depending on the schedule of the classes and days offered.

Do I need a GED or high school diploma to take the classes?

  • Some classes will require a GED or high school diploma. See each class description for details.

If I DO need a GED or diploma, do you offer those classes?

  • Yes, the Smithville Workforce Training Center has partnered with Community Action to offer GED & ESL classes.

What other classes will you be offering in the future?

The Smithville Workforce Training Center is working with our educational partners to bring several classes to our area. We are currently focusing on medical support, skilled trades and GED/ESL courses. Currently, we are working to bring the following courses to Smithville:

  • Pharmacy Technician
