Firefighter Training Registration Deadline
Firefighter Training Registration is now open and registration will close on June 1, 2024
Deadline to register is June 10th and training will be held at Texas Public Safety Training Academy. (Course is between 8 t0 10 weeks.)
At the conclusion of the course students will gain a certification in Emergency Medical Responder & Structure Fire.

Welding Class Registration
Welding Class Registration is now open and registration will close on May 15th, 2024
We anticipate a June start date for the welding class and the class will be held in Smithville, TX
This comprehensive entry-level welding course will allow students to learn remedial basic welding skills with an intermediate knowledge base and skill set upon completion. Students will be learning the following skills throughout the duration of the class:
-Introduction to safety, equipment, and tools
-Cutting, Grinding, and Preparation
-Layout
-Bending, straightening, twisting, including hossfeld bender
-Stick Welding
-Oxy fuel cutting and welding
-Mig, Tig, and Flux-Cored Welding Exposure
-OSHA 10 Certification
-OSHA-Compliant Welding and Cutting Course
-NCCER Core Certification

The forums will be held at the Smithville Housing Authority Conference Room located at 100 Ken Blaschke Dr., Smithville, Texas 78957.
We know many families are struggling right now and the SWTC wants to offer support - not just financially but through education and training.
This series of classes is being offered to the entire community. The last of the series is to discuss how we might build the bridge (either pedestrian and/or vehicular) from the Sunnyside to the Northside.
We will present 6 forums as outlined in the flyer. Please join us and if you have any ideas for future forums, please let me know.

Accounting/Bookkeeping Class Registration Deadline
Accounting/Bookkeeping Registration is now open Registration Deadline is May 3rd
There are 2 options: Students can take the course in person at the ACC Highland Campus or Online as part of the Distant Learning Program*.
The distant learning program is entirely online. Students will be required to be online via computer (desktop or laptop) during the duration of the scheduled class times (**Tablets will not work for this class**) the SWTC can assist with computer needs upon request.
Upon completion of the class students can sit for the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers (NACPB) Exam as well as the QuickBooks Certification.
