Smithville Workforce Training Center, Texas Public Service Training Academy, and Community Action Inc. are collaborating to offer a class for adults to complete an Emergency Medical Technician certification course.

This course will teach basic emergency medical care at the EMT level. Upon successful completion, students will be able to take National Registry Examination for EMT and apply for Texas Department of State Health Services certification as an EMT upon passing the NREMT Exam.

In addition to class work, you will have Field Internship and Clinical Internship Rotations (5 Shifts,12 hours each). There is a mandatory assessment and orientation before classes begin, and is a mandatory requirement for the sponsorship of the class.

After earning your certification, Smithville Workforce Training Center will help with job placement.
